Penetrating Concrete Sealing in Logan, UT

Driveways, patios, walkways, and pool decks. Done in-house.

Surface cleaning a driveway before penetrating sealing

Hardened from within.

A lithium-silicate sealer reacts with the concrete to harden the surface, limit moisture, and resist stains. Nothing sits on top to peel.

Every job starts with a full clean, and structural cracks are addressed before sealing. Expect a natural look, usually a shade darker, and 5 to 10+ years of protection depending on wear.

Want gloss on top? Add topical sealing. Want color? See concrete staining.

Questions

Good to know.

Do you come out to look at the concrete before quoting?
Yes. The consultation is free. Nick walks the driveway, patio, or walkway with you, looks at the cracks and the overall condition, and gives you an on-site estimate for your specific slab.
Do you seal concrete for businesses too?
Yes. We take residential and commercial work, from home driveways to walkways and exterior slabs at a place of business.
How far do you travel for concrete sealing?
We are based in Cache Valley and work across the valley, Box Elder County, and down into Weber and Davis counties. If your town is not listed on the site, call and ask.
More about penetrating concrete sealing in Logan

Penetrating concrete sealing for Logan and Cache Valley driveways

Concrete around Logan has a hard life. Snow melts on the slab during the day and refreezes in the pores at night, de-icing salt gets tracked in off the road, spring runoff soaks the edges, and summer sun bakes the surface. Penetrating concrete sealing protects a driveway, patio, walkway, or pool deck from the inside out, and Alta Vista Construction does this work in-house.

How the lithium-silicate sealer works

The sealer reacts chemically with the calcium hydroxide already inside your concrete. That reaction solidifies the top layer of the slab, so the surface becomes harder and more resistant to abrasion. It also fills micro-voids and capillaries, which limits how much moisture moves through the slab, reduces efflorescence (the white, chalky bloom you sometimes see), and helps the surface resist stains and wear. Because all of that happens below the surface, there is no plastic-like film on top to peel, crack, or wear through in the tire tracks.

What the job looks like

Every job starts with a full pressure wash, so the sealer soaks into open concrete instead of sitting on dirt and oil. Structural cracks in the slab are addressed before sealing, so water is not left a path to make them worse. Expect a subtle result rather than a dramatic change: the concrete usually reads a shade darker, cleaner, and more even.

Who it suits best

Penetrating sealing does the most good on concrete that is still fairly young and in sound shape, because it protects the slab before stains and wear take hold. If your concrete already shows surface damage, Nick checks it in person and tells you plainly what sealing can and cannot do for it. Very old concrete that is already badly deteriorated is a different conversation, and Nick will tell you honestly whether sealing makes sense for your slab.
