The Himalayan salt cave at The Healing Agenda, glowing salt wall with zero-gravity recliners
Eau Claire's only pharmaceutical-grade salt cave

Breathe easier in our Himalayan salt cave

Natural halotherapy for respiratory health, allergy relief, and deep stress reduction - the first of its kind in the Chippewa Valley.

What is halotherapy?

A drug-free way to support your lungs and skin.

Halotherapy - salt therapy - supports your respiratory system and skin by having you breathe pharmaceutical-grade salt particles in a controlled environment. Our 400-square-foot Himalayan salt cave recreates the microclimate of natural salt mines, where people have sought healing for centuries.

The cave holds over 12,000 pounds of Himalayan salt across the floors and walls, while a medical-grade halogenerator disperses microscopic salt particles into the air. Each 45-minute session delivers the same pharmaceutical-grade salt used in prescribed nebulizer treatments - except you're relaxing in a zero-gravity chair instead of a clinic.

How it works

The science behind the salt.

During your session, our halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical-grade salt into particles measured in microns - far smaller than the eye can see. You breathe them deep into your lungs, where they:

  • Clear mucus and bacteria from your respiratory system
  • Reduce inflammation in airways and sinuses
  • Naturally help sterilize the respiratory tract
  • Support skin healing through contact with exposed skin
  • Boost immune response with natural antimicrobial properties

You'll spend 45 minutes in the temperature-controlled cave - relaxing in a zero-gravity chair with a blanket, practicing gentle yoga or meditation, playing in the salt (yes, encouraged!), or simply breathing and being still. Almost immediately you'll taste salt on your lips - a sign the therapy is working. You'll leave with a light coating of salt dust; the longer you keep it on, the better the effect.

What makes our salt cave different

Pharmaceutical-grade salt - not decorative ambiance

Medical-grade, not grocery salt

Our halogenerator uses the same medical-grade salt prescribed in nebulizer treatments. The 12,000+ lbs on our walls create ambiance and ionic benefits - but the real therapy is in the microscopic particles you breathe.

Spacious private sessions

At 400 square feet, ours is one of the largest salt caves in Wisconsin. Most sessions are private - just you or your group - so you can truly relax without distraction.

Flexible session options

Private sessions, Walk-In Wednesdays (open community sessions, 11am–7pm, $30), and salt cave parties for groups up to five. There's a way to float in for everyone.

Frequently asked

Salt cave questions

How often should I visit the salt cave?+
For chronic respiratory or skin conditions, consistency matters. Many guests start with 2–3 sessions per week until symptoms improve, then maintain with weekly visits. For seasonal allergies, concentrated sessions during peak season work well. For stress and general wellness, even monthly visits help. Our memberships make frequent visits affordable - unlimited salt cave access starts at $149/month.
What should I wear?+
Comfortable, loose clothing. The more skin exposed (arms, feet), the more the salt can benefit your skin - but wear whatever lets you fully relax. You'll leave with a light, intentional coating of salt dust.
Is the salt cave safe for children?+
Yes - halotherapy is gentle and natural, and many parents bring children for respiratory and allergy support. Kids 12 & under are $15, and 4 & under are free (one per adult). Please note Wednesdays are kept kid-free to maintain a serene group space.
Can I bring my phone or read during the session?+
You're welcome to read or quietly use a device, but most guests find the deepest benefit by unplugging - closing their eyes, breathing, or meditating. The cave is built for stillness.
Will salt therapy raise my blood pressure?+
No. You're breathing microscopic airborne salt particles, not consuming salt, so halotherapy does not raise blood pressure. If you have a specific medical condition, we're always happy to talk it through before you book.
How long does a session last?+
A standard salt cave session is 45 minutes in our temperature-controlled cave.
