Those black streaks running down your roofline aren't dirt, they're gloeocapsa magma, an algae that eats into shingles and tiles over time. High-pressure washing strips granules and can crack roofing material, which is why we never point a pressure washer at a roof.

Soft washing uses low pressure and a roof-safe cleaning solution that kills the algae, moss and lichen at the root, then rinses clean without forcing water under shingles or tiles.

The result is a roof that looks years younger, and because the treatment kills spores instead of just blasting them off, the black streaking comes back slower than it would after a pressure rinse.
