Why the coats matter
Taping and finishing is the stage where a drywall job is won or lost. Hung board is just the start - it is the tape, the coats of mud, and the sanding between them that decide whether the wall reads flat or shows every joint the day the paint goes on.
We embed the tape, build the coats up, and feather each one wide so joints vanish instead of ghosting under paint. Corners stay crisp, screw lines disappear, and flat walls actually read flat - even under raking light, which is where most finishes give themselves away.
Every job is quoted to a finish level you understand before we start - Level 4 for most painted walls, Level 5 where gloss, low light, or a dead-flat look demands it - so you pay for the finish you need and not one you do not.
Coat by coat
Mud has to dry between coats. That is why a real finish takes days, not hours - and why the fast crews leave seams you can see.

Tape embedded in mud over every joint and inside corner, so the seam is reinforced instead of just hidden.

Joints and screw lines built up and brought level with the board once the tape coat has dried.

A final coat feathered wide past the joint so the transition to bare board disappears completely.

Sanded flat with dust control, then checked under raking light before we call it paint-ready.
